The Toward Wellth environment centers around friendly staff and purpose-designed interior spaces.
There are three primary space types at Toward Wellth, each with their purpose in mind.
There is a common social space which is the most public and is available to any patrons.
There are closed-door rooms available for group activities either through programming provided by Toward Wellth or its partners.
There are private focus rooms available for private discussions or individual focus.
Healing and Improvement are the central focuses of the programming at Toward Wellth. People experience a range of traumatic experiences, including but not limited to: chronic health issues, physical abuse, mental abuse, loss of a loved one, loss of employment, divorce, or having experienced any one of many difficult to process events. For these traumas, a variety of individual and group services can be provided to help process the trauma yet often traumas go unaddressed and affect one’s capacity.
Healing often is not achieved by one approach necessitating a need to educate on and offer various services. Examples of such services are:
Mindful Practices
Guided Meditations
Yoga
Group Shared-Experience Support Groups
Knowledge Sharing through Short, Actionable Presentations (both Public and Closed Group Programming)
Dietician Consultations
Further, persons undergoing recovery from substance use disorders (SUD) or alcohol use disorders (AUD) lack many safe environments to socialize. The environments that exist are limited and are not focused on catalyzing recovery. For SUD or AUD individuals, a traditional bar might trigger a relapse into unwanted behaviors.
High-school and early adult aged patrons will further have age-specific programming to address and bring awareness to common situations that breed trauma and trauma responses - or life skills that are often learned but not taught. Examples: How to identify toxic relationships, How to make or break habits, Issues stemming from the use social media, How to deepen reciprocal interpersonal relationships, How to identify and de-escalate bullying situations, etc.
As a mental health professional teaching environment, Toward Wellth provides new mental health and social work specialists with an environment to be exposed to a variety of situations.
As a general social environment, there are people who enjoy a wide variety of beverages that would be attracted to a wide variety of beverages on a menu. The positive vibe of the space and the staff welcome those that simply seek a public space to socialize with friends or to meet new friends.
Toward Wellth's vision includes an openness to social dialogues - particularly in the spaces of discussing sustainability (and the threats of [and responses to] climate change), having respectful debates on topics where different individual values provide a space to learn from one another a different viewpoint, improving advocacy and support for underserved groups, and how to further community.
